Exciting things are happening in Koreatown this fall. >> And I'm not just talking about my new listing at the iconic French Chateau, LA's Historic Cultural Monument #815 (more on that shortly). << Nancy Silverton is set to unveil her latest creation, Lapaba! This innovative Korean Italian Pasta Bar on the corner of 6th & Western. Dive into a unique blend of Italian classics with a Korean twist. Indulge in mouthwatering creations like kimchi suppli stuffed with Spam and mozzarella, a little gem Caesar with doenjang, and freshly made pastas crafted in a dedicated pasta room. Delight in dishes such as cappelletti in a galbi brodo with mandu filling, and campanella with a fusion of basil and perilla pesto. Plus, savor the intriguing flavors of bucatini with jjagang and tonnarelli featuring clams, garlic, and braised kombu. For a sweet finish, try the Tiramisu-Garu crafted with misugari and makgeolli, along with shaved ice and soft serve.

Lapaba, short for La Pasta Bar, is a bold new restaurant opening this October in Koreatown that fuses Italian and Korean flavors in unexpected ways. Backed by Nancy Silverton and helmed by chefs McKenna Lelah and Matthew Kim, the menu reimagines classics like bucatini alla Amatriciana with jjajang (black bean paste) or cappelletti in galbi broth. With its curved stone bar, open kitchen, and inventive mashups like kimchi-stuffed suppli and doenjang Caesar salad, Lapaba is set to become one of LA’s most exciting new dining destinations.
