Love | Gianna Vargas: Artist Talk & Reception
I first met Gianna on a warm sunny morning in Santa Monica. She stood patiently in a large brim hat, dark sunglasses. Stylish would be an understatement - awe evoking - more appropriate. We both stood quietly, nervously, each holding a tiny, fidgety little hand. It was the first day of preschool. And the beginning of a beautiful relationship . . . Today we remain connected and I’m constantly impressed, proud, wowed by her many talents.
Join me in supporting Gianna Vargas. A friend, mother, artist, and so much more.

Gianna Vargas is an artist living in Venice, California. Born in England, Gianna has lived and studied in the United States and Australia. She relocated to California to study art and science at Scripps College and Claremont Graduate University. Currently she divides her time between teaching science at Brentwood School and painting at her studio in the Hawthorne Arts Complex. Gianna Vargas has been exhibiting locally and internationally since 2006. Her work can be found in private homes across the globe including; Los Angeles, London, Morocco, New York, and Sydney. Gianna works with both individuals and designers like Sarah Barnard to create custom paintings for any size space. Gianna specializes in paintings that are large format with dramatic painterly features. Her work is informed by her study of science: cellular imagery, organic decay, and the vibrant colors found in nature. Even the large paintings are best seen up close in order to catch the finely scribed details applied with ink. Gianna’s work has multifaceted imagery that rewards the viewer with careful study.
