Lately | The Palisades Power Goes Underground
LADWP's long-term vision for Pacific Palisades is coming into focus. The utility plans to bury up to 45 miles of overhead power lines across the neighborhood, spanning from the Alphabets and Village to Rustic Canyon and beyond, nearly doubling local grid capacity and significantly reducing wildfire risk. Work on Sunset Boulevard is already underway, with contractor selection, property owner outreach, and groundbreaking on a new distribution station all expected before year's end. Full completion is targeted for 2031.
