Lately | Property Tax Relief Available for Homeowners Impacted by Wildfires
Homeowners in Pacific Palisades and other fire-affected areas may qualify for property tax reassessment and disaster relief through the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office. If your home was damaged or destroyed, you can apply for a temporary reduction in your assessed value, sometimes including full relief on improvements and up to a 35% decrease in land value, to help ease financial strain during rebuilding. This relief isn’t automatic; you must submit Form ADS-820 to the Assessor’s Office within 12 months of the declared disaster, which can be done online through the county’s website.
